After a decade in DC's Foxhall
village, Bob and Diane sold 1413 Foxhall Rd
in summer 2005 and relocated back to Texas. We had enjoyed the charm
of that Victorian twin, as we had our other Victorian twin at #10 Reading Ave
in Yardley PA (while Bob was at Mobil R&D, and Diane at Westminster Choir
College).
Our
home at 14923 Aspen Hills Drive
in Clear Lake is all one level, with a fan-cooled patio and pool out back.
Meagan and Edvin sold their Anacostia home in DC even more quickly and moved
down Labor Day weekend 2005. Diane is enjoying being close to her large Davis
family clan along a LaPorte-Galveston axis. We
both enjoy hosting reunions/parties/guest stays at our home.
Colin has graduated at U. Maryland
at Eastern Shore, and still has
free use of the basement apartment
in DC that he and Bob totally remodeled from just a shell - gives him a place
to keep his stuff and stay in DC.
Bob went on assignment in late 2005 through mid-2006.
During that time he stayed in
BirchBayGetAway.com,
a block off Birch Bay Dr. We also bought (and since sold) Lots 141 & 142 fully-developed with utilities - at "Latitude 49",
with a magnificent central three-building club-house,
pool and tennis area.
One of Bob's fellow design engineers recommended using
inexpensive
3D
tools that he used to design a new
custom home. These
object-based tools make custom
affordable with translucent views and
solid 3D renderings..
First Bob will practice designing a small
Japanese
bath house at Birch Bay Get Away - just to get the techniques down- to do
a complete Bill of Materials and cut dimensions from 3D-drawings, to
minimize all wood wastage. |
