Neighborhood Notes - Foxhall: 28 November 2001A s required by BZA order, GU has revised its campus plan for 2000-2010. The changes can be listed in a few words, but are important as commitment to their broader community around GU.“The University shall not increase its number of traditional undergraduate students above the cap of 5,627.” “The Plan will not create objectionable conditions because of the number of students. The traditional undergraduate enrollment shall not increase above the existing cap.” Appendix G: Office of Student Affairs “Hotline (687-8413): The Hotline is a means of communicating with Georgetown about problems at student houses in the community. This telephone service is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days by University personnel who keep a detailed account of each complaint received and forward each complaint to the appropriate authorities for immediate response.” Appendix M: Transportation Initiatives MedStar’s traffic consultant’s O.R. George and Associates have just completed their Reservoir Road corridor study. This focuses on improvements in parking management and traffic signals between Entrance #3 and 37th Street. DPW/DDOT will take recommendations from this study, along with any recommendations from Burleith/ Hillandale plus the outcome of a new major corridor study for Foxhall, Canal, MacArthur and Loughboro. Any decisions and their timing will be brought back to ANC2E. Some improvements could be put in place almost immediately - restoring traffic signals to their proper timing and synchronization and expanding rush-hour parking restriction to both sides. © Bob Andrew, Foxhall |
