Driving directions to reunion in Fiskebäckskil from: Copenhagen, Oslo, Gotenburg, Uddevalla

Options for Getting to the 40th Reunion:

Fiskebäckskil (Fisket for short) is on the island of Skaftö, about 110 km NW of Gothenburg which has the nearest airports. RyanAir flies from Stansted, UK and from other European cities to Gothenburg City Airport (Säve, which is west of the city and a little closer to the Teggs. All major airlines fly to Landvetter which is the principal airport (east of the city). Rental cars are at both airports - about 90 mins. to reach us via the E6, direction of Oslo. If travelling by car within Europe first, there are several drive and ferry options via Germany and/or Denmark. Anki & Geoff usually take overnight (14 hours) Stena Line ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg if driving from Zurich. See Swedish rail info. travelling on SJ - see route map and timetables, rail in Norway.

Oslo to Fisket Route, via Uddevalla

Two options for travel from Oslo to Fisket, for a flight from Kirkenes arriving at 2.10 pm on Wednesday 21st. In both cases, first take the airport train from Gardemoen Airport to Oslo Central (Oslo S). Then either:

Train to Göteborg (hop off in Uddevalla). Departures at 13.00 (which you will be lucky to catch) and 18.00. It takes about 3 hours.

Bus (Swebus) from bus terminal next to the central bus station (Oslo Gallerien) to Uddevalla Torp Terminalen E6. Best departure for you is at 15.50, arriving Uddevalla at 18.25.

Bus is cheaper than train. The airport train is quite expensive, given the 18 minute ride at around 250 km/h!

Teggs are happy to pick people up in Torp (about 30 mins.drive from Fisket). Just let them know which bus you are on! Text message would be fine - helps keep the costs under control!

Norway Scenic Routes to/from Oslo

If you're mainly interested in Norway's nature and scenery (spectacular!), consider round trip by train to Bergen (with a stopover there) and back to Oslo via Flåm railway (requires a ferry connection from Bergen to Flåm); a coach trip to Geiranger and back; a trip on the famous "Hurtigruten" ferries up and down the full length of the west coast; or two or three days in the Lofoten islands (via rental car from one of the airports in the area, e.g. Evenes). Remember that Norway is a long country, at least 2,000 km from North to South, so road travel is time consuming. If you choose road, concentrate on the west coast S.W. of Trondheim, the Helgeland coast around Bodö, or the Lofoten Islands (superb!)
